Making Money With Affiliate Programs

Making Money With Affiliate Programs

If you ask me, about the best way to make money online. I will tell you affiliate programs is the best way of making money online. there are various way of making money online, but i prefer affiliate programs to all of them. Come to think of if, do you really know what an affiliate program is and how it works? If you don't know, then this article will tell a little about affiliate marketing as you read on.

Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting another company's products or services for a commission. I love affiliate marketing because it's a very simple, transparent model for earning an income online. It's not about joining some pyramid scheme where you have to recruit people to sell random products (I really hate those programs.)

You create a useful, themed website that provides information, and then casually recommend products that are related to your topic. Let's say your site is about reviewing plasma TV's. You could join Best Buy's affiliate program and earn a commission when someone purchases a TV based on your site's referral.

A Quick Affiliate Marketing Tip

The key to finding success with affiliate programs is to build a content-rich website with useful information centered around a specific topic or theme. Don't just haphazardly throw up a quick site or blog and string a bunch of affiliate links all over your pages.

You have to start by building credibility. And the best way to do that is to write about something you know a lot about. Instead of hard-selling, the key is to subtly recommend products and services that fit in with what you are writing about in your content.

It's also a good idea to own the products you promote so you can speak intelligently about them and appear more credible to your audience.

Affiliate Programs/Networks I Use

I am an affiliate of many networks such as Commission Junction, LinkShare, ShareaSale, Clickbank, Amazon and more. It's really not about the network, it's more about the relevant products that you promote on your website.

So if you are creating a website about babies, you would search the various affiliate networks and look for products that relate to the theme of your website. Grab the affiliate code from your account, paste it into your site and you can begin earning from the referrals in your articles.
It's Not About The Program

People ALWAYS ask me which program to join in order to make the most money, and that's a question I will never, ever answer.

It's NOT about the program because you could make a killing with any program. What matters is if the program is relevant to your site or not. If you are seeking out the most profitable program, you're already starting off on the wrong foot. It's about finding programs that match whatever your site is about.

I could tell you that I make $2,000/month with one program on this site, but if your site is about cooking or some other topic, obviously that program is not going to be relevant to YOUR visitors. So of course, your income would be a lot lower than mine.

So be careful about comparing your potential results with other people.

If you can generate enough traffic, you can sell almost anything on your website. So don't get caught up in the affiliate program. Focus on the topic of your site and search for products that fit your site's content.

That was all for now, regarding making money with affiliate marketing. feel free to leave you questions or contributions in the comment section.

Reasons Why College Students Should Own A Blog

Reasons Why College Students Should Own A Blog
There are various reasons why people blog. Today i want to share with you the important reasons why college students should blog. As I said earlier, there are various reasons why people blog. If I may ask, what really interested you about blogging that you started your first blog. please drop your response in the comment section. Is it because because your friends of or college mate owns a blog that made to create your blog.
Whatever the case may be i want to share with you the reasons why college students should blog.

Reasons Why College Students Should Own A Blog

As a recent college graduate, I have learned so much since graduating. It’s definitely been a big transition to go from heady book knowledge to actual hands-on experience. Looking back, I wish I would have had more practical experience, and I strongly believe that starting a blog in college would have helped me tremendously to bridge the gap of knowledge to practical experience.

Here are just a few reasons that I think blogging in college helps students gain great experience to help with future career aspirations and life in general. I also must put in a disclaimer that blogging is not for everyone, and it takes a lot of hard work and perseverance to really become a “successful” blogger.
Reasons Why College Students Should Own A Blog
Reasons Why College Students Should Own A Blog

Develop your Voice – One of the hardest parts of blogging in my opinion is finding your voice as a writer. It’s easy to write formal term papers, but it takes another skill to become an engaging, creative writer for your audience. Becoming a good storyteller with your writing is also very difficult, and it’s something I am still trying to learn. Finding your voice and implementing storytelling into your writing can be difficult and definitely takes some practice to perfect, so why not start developing these skills in college?

Build your Audience – Networking and building your audience is also a major challenge for beginning bloggers. You may have great things to say, but if no one is listening, you are not making nearly as big of an impact as you could be. It takes a lot of time and hard work to build your audience / tribe, so do not become discouraged if you don’t have 1,000 subscribers right away. You won’t have an audience like Bloggodown over night, but do not let that discourage you. Persist diligently in your writing and continue to engage in conversations on other blogs, and your hard work will pay off in the long run.

Contribute Information – When you are in college, you are constantly being fed a deluge of information. Many times, you may not necessarily agree with your professors, but don’t let that stop you from sharing those thoughts and ideas with others. Controversial ideas make for great discussions online, and using a blog to host these discussions is highly beneficial.

Online Resume – Having a well-developed blog can be a great asset for you as you look for jobs post-college. Engaging writers who are also great at social media are in high demand for companies these days. Companies are turning more and more to online networks to make important decisions and engage with customers, making writing and social engagement a great skill to have. Having a well-developed blog shows that you are not only a good writer, but also have the necessary skills to manage online resources and are motivated to succeed. Upon graduation this will help you differentiate yourself among your colleagues.

Personal Reflection – It is my belief that personal reflection is not discussed nearly enough in conversation surrounding the benefits of blogging. Confucius once said,

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.
Most people talk about either the experience or the benefits surrounding blogging, but rarely do you hear that anyone discuss the benefit of reflection. Our lives are very fast-pace and we have so many interruptions and conflicting messages sent to us all of the time, and rarely, do we actually think about a topic for longer than 20 minutes, let alone write about it. Therefore, writing a blog about something you are passionate or life in general can be of great personal value to learning wisdom. You may not always make a dime on it, but sometimes wisdom in and of itself is priceless.

If you are not a college student, starting a blog can also be of great value. After all, the above points aren’t exclusively for college students. If you are a college student, consider writing a blog. Also, if you are interested in looking for guest blogging opportunities to further enhance your skills and gain exposure, check out sites like blog.hellopostify.com, which provide blogging opportunities

That was all i have for now regarding reasons why college students should own a blog. Please use the comment section to contribute to this article.

Google Analytics Beginners Guide

Google analytics is one of the blogging tools that all the bloggers must use, if you must get on track with your keyword competitors, I recommend google analytics for you to use i. So for you to have the desire report to work on your desired keyword so as to stay ahead of your competitors, you need google analytics.

After my publication of basic blogging tips for beginners, I found it necessary to also write on google analytics beginners guide to contribute to the basic blogging tips I published earlier. There are a lot of beginners venturing into the blogoshere without proper knowledge about the use of google analytics that is why I’m titling this post “google analytics beginners guide”.

Google Analytics Beginners Guide
credit: blogclickdesk
What is the purpose of your blog? Is it a business blog designed to generate sales and customers? Are you looking to grow a community of like-minded people, or start a movement? Or perhaps you are trying to generate revenue through your content?

Whatever the goals of your blog, it is important to know what people like and dislike, what content is best serving your target demographic, and how far your posts are reaching.

‘But I’m not trying to make money from my blog’, you say? Even so, if you care about the experience of your readers on your blog, you’ll want to know how you can improve it.

Analytics are the only sure-fire way to measure the success of your blog, in whatever terms that may be.

What is Google analytics all about?

Google Analytics provides “powerful digital analytics for anyone with a web presence, large or small.” It allows you to monitor the overall performance of your blog post. Through detailed statistical analysis, it can tell you how many people visited your site, where they landed and how long they stayed. It is also good to know which pages are holding readers’ attention the longest, and where they were when they left you.

Measuring the success of anything depends on having clearly defined goals to measure it against. Google Analytics, integrated into the source code of your blog, will measure your blog’s performance against your specified goals.

Why google analytics?

How else will you know which content to optimize in the future, how to tailor your blog experience to your readers, and which social media avenues are best for sharing your content?

If you don’t know which posts are doing well, you’ll never know which ones to optimize. Analytics, by identifying the avenues that are generating the most traffic, give you the information you need to leverage the right traffic for growth.

If you have any other goal for your blog other than the simple act of writing it, google analytics is essential.

How to use Google analytics

Are you sold on the value of using analytics to monitor your blog’s performance?

Good, now for the important bit. To avoid getting completely lost, it is important to know how to read your statistics correctly, and to separate the inaccurate and confusing from what is most valuable to you.

RSS feed subscriptions, visit duration and the number of pages per visit are all good indicators of general audience engagement, although they should be approached with some caution. For example; any visitor that only visit one page will automatically be categorized as a short-term visitor (0-10 seconds) by Google Analytics. By the very nature of a blog, many visitors will only visit one page, but if they read all the way through the post, they’ll stay for a lot longer than 10 seconds!

Don’t be mislead and disheartened by these figures. You’d do much better to focus on time spent on your site. Are people reading your posts all the way through, and are they navigating to your older posts too? There is no better measure of whether your content is grabbing readers’ attention than this.

Keep a close eye on your email subscriptions as a clear indicator of how many readers are converting to loyal followers. Features such as Real Time, Page Views, Unique Visitors and Traffic Sources and Referrals. Google Analytics allows you to pinpoint the behavior of your visitors, the content and avenues that are working well for you.

There you have it, your general introduction to analytics. There are a lot more specifics to get your head around, but hopefully you have learned the value of analytics and how it can improve the blogging experience for you, the writer, and for your audience.

Analytics is not just about measurement. It is about informing future action, so that you can concentrate on pushing what is working for you, tailor your content for your followers and stop wasting time on fruitless labors.

Basic Blogging Tips For Beginners

Today i want to give out the basic blogging tips for beginners which is the basics of blogging that any new or intending blogger must take not of before starting, to avoid silly mistakes. Personally when i started my blogging career, i made series of mistakes that i would not have made if i was privileged to an article like this before starting.

I will like you to learn from my own mistake, don't make the mistakes others made on the start. So i will give you a kind of starting kit for you to get started in your blogging ambition.
If you are a newbie-blogger or Pre-blogger looking for blogging tips to kick-start your blogging career smoothly, then this post is for you.

Due to lack of knowledge or misconception about blogging, lots of newbie bloggers end-up their career at the beginning itself! This is an attempt to provide few Basic Blogging Tips to avoid the common mistakes newbie bloggers usually make while starting their blogging career.

 Basic Blogging Tips For Beginners

Blogging Platform

Blogging platform plays a great role in blogging career. Choose it wisely.

Starting with a wrong platform and changing to a different one is not advisable at all. This is just like changing your home from one city to a completely unknown city. Making your newly changed blogging platform in-order and SEO friendly is a herculean task.

So, make yourself acquainted with different platforms available, and choose one with which you are more comfortable. These are few good blogging platforms you should try: Blogger.com, WordPress.com, WordPress.org, TypePad, Drupal and Joomla. Choosing the best blogging platform is one basic blogging tips I usually give to newbie bloggers.

Things you should look for while choosing a blogging platform.

  • UI (User Interface): User Interface is your everyday playground. Everyday you do lots of blogging activities via your User Interface or Admin Dashboard. You should be comfortable enough with your Admin Dashboard. And, your dashboard should be feature rich to help you to perform various important activities. Checkout the various UIs offered by various blogging platforms, and choose one with which you are most comfortable. I recommend WordPress.com or WordPress.org (Self Hosted), for its cutting edge technology and features. Beside that, WordPress is the most search engine friendly blogging platform, accepted by Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s web-spam team.
  • Customizability: Checkout for customization option available with your blogging platform. You have to customize your theme to suits your niche or subject matter. A well customized blog stands out in the crowded blogosphere. You have to look unique. You have to look professional. So check for blogging platform which offers easy customization options.
  • Themes and Plugins: A theme gives your blog a look, and plugins add functionalities to perform various tasks.

For every blogging platform, there are thousands of themes and plugins available, both free and premium. So, look for the blogging platform which offers the theme and plugins which suits your blogging needs. Finally, your blog theme should be SEO friendly, fast loading and well coded.

A SEO friendly blog ranks higher in search engines with minimal SEO efforts.

Your blog should loads in <3 sec time. The attention-span of web-surfers has reduced very much. If you blog takes more than 3 sec to load, they will simply click the Go-back button, or close the browser. And, due to bad user experience (Online memory) they will never come back again. Try this free tool to test your page-loading speed.

Coding is another vital thing you should check in your theme. Your theme should be W3C compliant. Validate your theme by this free validation service.

Niche

Niche is the thing which can either make or break your blogging career.

Your niche should be your main hobby or passion. Because passion is the thing which inspires you to work hard and achieve your goal. After a log time of blogging, it becomes monotonous and frustration supervenes. There comes the passion. Again, you are already a pseudo expert about your choice subject or passion, and ready to teach people in a professional way. Your niche should be like this, if somebody ask you a question, you should be able to boast nonstop about the nitty-gritty, till the person droops.

Lots of newbie bloggers quit their blogging career only because they choose a wrong niche in the beginning. Instead of choosing their passion as niche, they look for the niche in demand currently (presently), and the subject which gives more money for AdSense clicks etc. Finally they quit blogging due to lack of knowledge, motivation and frustration.
So, take your time and choose your niche carefully for a long haul. This is one of the best blogging tips I usually offer to newbie bloggers.

Domain Name

Domain name is like more than naming your own baby. Choosing a domain name with a cute meaning is not sufficient. Your domain name should be short, catchy, meaningful, complements to your niche or subject matter, and finally partial keyword matching for your subject.

Few years back there was a hot trend for buying Exact Match Domain Name. Here they were looking for all the keywords in their domain name to rank higher in Google. And, Google was ranking them higher also. But the trend has changed now. Google is gradually ranking Exact Match Domain Name lower and lower in SERPs. The main problem with exact match domain name is, they (bloggers) also strive for exact match anchor text or backlinks from external sites for better rankings. And, ends-up with Google Penguin Penalty.

The current trend is registering a Nonsense domain name, which has no meaning, but catchy, short and easy to remember. To some extent it’s OK. But you shouldn’t follow the trend. Because trend has to end someday. Think about the keywords in your subject matter, have a great brainstorming session, take your time (days to weeks) and register your favorite domain. Don’t buy a domain in impulse.
I recommend buying your domain name from Godaddy.com.

Custom LOGO

Your logo is your brand identity. It represents your blog in the vast blogosphere.

Actually, a blog or website starts from the logo. The colors which you are going to use in your blog starts from your logo only. So choose your logo colors judiciously. A well designed logo speaks a lot. It should be ingrained in the mind and brain of your visitors at the first look only. That way they will recall it later and come back again to your site. Thinking about Love at first site? It’s something like that.

Always go for a professional logo, if you want to make a serious blog, or want to make blogging as your career.

DesignCrowd and 99Designs are the right places for making a professional logo.

Premium Theme

If you want to make your blog premium, your theme also should be premium. A premium theme standouts in the crowd.

Tell me one thing – Why you wear your best dress on your first date, or why you wear a designer suit on your wedding day? The answer is simple. To present yourself in the best possible way in front of everybody. You can’t pull crowd without having a premium theme.

Secondly, if you buy a premium theme, they will give you all the support you need for customization and all. Premium themes are usually light weight and loads fast, SEO friendly and well coded.

Finally, choose a theme which compliments your niche in terms of looks and feel. You should start with TheThemeFoundry and StudioPress.

Social Media Promotion

You can’t be a successful blogger without proper marketing and promotion. As, blog marketing is a vast subject, I will be covering social media promotion part only. Social media promotion is the current hot trend, and it will go a long way for sure. You should promote your blog content insanely in social media sites for wider exposure.

It’s a proven fact that – The more Facebook likes, Re-tweets and Google+ your blog post gets, the more will be its search engine ranking in Google. Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s web-spam team has confirmed the addition of social signal in Google search engine algorithm.

Apart from better search engine ranking, you will get plenty of free traffic from the social media.

You should join at least Facebook, Google+, Twitter and StumbleUpon.

SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the secret of every successful blogs. The famous blogs you read everyday, even my blog MoneyCTL, couldn’t be successful without SEO. I’m not telling you to be a professional Search Engine Optimizer. Basic knowledge of SEO is what you need at the beginning. Gradually when you gain more knowledge, SEO will be more easy for you.

SEO will send you free organic traffic from search engines by placing your blog posts higher. And, the fun part is you don’t have to spend a penny for that, provided you are doing your SEO in-house. I strongly discourage PPC (Pay Per Click) for gaining traffic for newbie bloggers, unless you are selling some products.

Hard work and Patience

You can’t make blogging as your profession without hard work. Hard work and patience are cornerstones of every successful bloggers. Probably, the best and basic blogging tips for every newbie bloggers. Spend atleast few hours everyday to create good contents and promote your blog. I usually spend atleast 3 to 4 hours everyday on my blog (MoneyCTL) for different activities.

Even after doing hard work, sometimes success doesn’t come early. So, keep patience and things will fall automatically in places. Actually, there is no periodicity of blogging like one post/day or 5 posts /day. It depends on your comfort factor. And, always strive to produce great content.

Additional Basic Blogging Tips

Content is king: Produce awesome and unique content for your readers, not for search engines. Google loves to rank unique and fresh content higher.

Interact with your readers: Reply each and every comments on you blog post. Try to make a community around your blog. If you don’t respect their thoughts and address their query, they are never going to come again.

Email list: Build a long Email Subscriber list, capturing via Email subscription form. Send only important newsletters and blog posts to your subscribers. For God’s sake, don’t SPAM. Otherwise, you will loose their faith.

Read famous blogs a lot: You should read at least few blog posts of famous bloggers everyday. I recommend ProBlogger and CopyBlogger for you to learn the tricks of the trade.

Did you find these blogging tips useful? please use the comment to add any of the basics of blogging that you feel have been left out here. If you have any question to ask regarding this article use the comment section. For other inquiries please use the contact page.

Avoid Google Panda Effect By Adding Nofollow Tags To Your Blog Label Links

It is the desire of all the bloggers to have a successful blog, but do you know that following your blog label links can cause a great harm to your blog? That is why it's good to share ideas, and that is the main essence of blogging, sharing your ideas with people.

Google Panda effect is the name most of you might heard. It is a strict Google new algorithm that looks for content farms and link farms and completely stops indexing the publisher. If your blog contains too many irrelevant content or duplicate content or your post quantity is less than 300 words and you have too many tags/category labels on your blog that makes no sense then you can be the next target of Google panda update. Your traffic will drop significantly.

If you are receiving 2-3K visitors per day, you will end up with just 400-500 visitors. It really shocked me personally when I surveyed official and un-official blogger templates and amazingly found that all category tags or label tags are dofollow. It is really sad on blogger part but I found the same problem on WordPress blogs as well. Even the tags in wordPress are dofollow but since now many expert SEOs have advised to nofollow the label tags therefore we must not delay any further else the consequences could be huge.

How to add nofollow tag to your blog label links

    To get started:

    • Go To Blogger > Design > Edit HTML
    • Backup your template
    • Check the "Expand widget templates" box
    • Search for this,
    <a expr:href='data:label.url' rel='tag'>
Replace the code above with the one below
    <a expr:href='data:label.url' rel='tag,nofollow'>
Now your blog label links are successfully protected against google panda effect.

How to add nofollow tag to label cloud links (The one on your blog sidebar)

Note: This step is optional as it is added in your blog side bar, not the main blog, where the crawling takes place.
    •  Search for the code below
    <a expr:dir='data:blog.languageDirection' expr:href='data:label.url'><data:label.name/></a>
    • Now replace the code above with the one below
    <a expr:dir='data:blog.languageDirection' expr:href='data:label.url' rel='nofollow'><data:label.name/></a>
To check if you've correctly carried out the steps. Install Nodofollow in your Firefox browser to check it.

That has been all about adding nofollow tags to blog label links to avoid Google panda effect, feel free to drop your questions and contributions in the comment section.

Tips On How To Get People Attracted To Your Blog

Getting people attracted to your blog may seem tough, but with some dos and don't s, people can be attracted to a blog for several reason, just like i shared with you recently one of my articles i titled "attracting visitors to the mobile version of your blog/website".
Did you know that the design of your blog goes a long way in attracting people to your blog?

Read This: How some blogger template designs can hurt your blog.

Eye catching web design doesn't have to be complicated. If you've filled your site or blog with relevant SEO terms that draws potential clients in, the key is to concentrate on simplicity of use for clients to learn all about your small business.

Avoid going for flashy, over designed graphics
Potential clients don't go to your website looking for impressive Flash plugins. They want to know what you're selling, how you can solve their problem and where you're located. In order to answer those questions, you can use the simplest designs imaginable.

Make it super easy to find things

When you are designing the menus for your website, make the order logical and consistent. If you are a hardware supplier and nails are a major part of your business, list "Nails" on the menu of the front page and nested below in a drop down list each size of nails you carry. Do the same for washers and your site will make it quick and easy for customers to find what they need without having to click the back button or make guesses about where they can find what they're looking for. This method raises your SEO rankings since an customer who searches for a specific size of washer can go directly to a specific page thanks to the carefully selected search terms scattered throughout your individual pages.

Make each page scannable by human eyes

Visitors don't come to your page to read an epic novel- they scan to see if your page has what they're looking for. If they don't find it within seconds, they'll probably hit the back button and look at your competitor's website instead. If you're trying to cram as many words in to rank higher on SEO, the glut of text will turn your potential readers off. Go for short sentences and bullet points.

Learn where your visitors will look first

The bad news is that website visitors don't read a web page in a liner fashion, as they would with a printed. They scan in a particular fashion, and once you learn how to follow them you can put your most important information where they expect to find it.

Popular sites have trained visitors to look at certain parts of a web page first. Thanks to Amazon, most people expect the top right of a page to feature a shopping cart. The right side of a page is where readers expect to find links or special offers. Readers expect to find a menu that will quickly lead them back to your font page at the top of each page. Once they find your logo there, they'll click on it expecting to return to your home page. Take advantage of their expectations in your design and you'll make it much easier for them to navigate your website.

    Learn to love white space

As web design matured, businesses learned that they did not need to fill their sites with every browser safe color in the rainbow. The human eye needs to rest, and an overwhelming exposure to color can be too much. The "white spaces" that feature no color are an effective way to contrast brighter colors.

Are you not to sure about where to put white spaces? Use your own eyes- if you and your employees feel as if your eyes are strained while reading your own site, you can be your customers' eyes will as well.

Use colors effectively to brand your site

If your business already has a logo, it's likely that you've already learned that a couple of colors are the most effective way to brand your business. Twitter uses a soft blue for their website, and Amazon has made effective use of "Amazon green." Use the colors of your logo in your site, and the more you repeat them, the more you strengthen your brand visually. The human mind love repetition and patterns, and by using one to two colors you can use the simplicity principle as well as keep your brand squarely in your customer's minds.

Test your site and respond to feedback

Very few small businesses get their web design right on the first try. That's why it's important to solicit opinions while you're going through the design process. Try to find someone who has had no part in your design find a particular thing on your website, and watch her as she tries to find it.

A Must Have Tools For All Intending and Existing Guest Bloggers

In one of my recent articles, i share with you 8 ways to become a successful guest blogger which i recommend you read it. before you become successful in your gust blogging ambition, there are tools you need to have and maximize it usefulness to archive your guest blogging goal.

Come to think of it. Why do people guest-blog? For self- or product promotion, for traffic, money or just for interest’s sake. Indeed, guest blogging has become a marketing goldmine and all self-respecting online business owners tend to create a discourse around their product or service in blogosphere. Not all of them have the ability to write excellent posts which make the readers beg for more. Still any writing skills aren’t inherent or intuitive. Instead, good writing is a learned skill and it may be easily developed through practice.

If you’re preparing to plunge into guest-posting, you will need not only a knack for writing but a bunch of good tools to aid you in daily chores. Here is a roundup of handy web and PC-based applications which I find indispensable for everyone aiming at comfortable and effective guest-posting.

    Tools for effective guest blogging

Those who get tired of MS Word and OpenOffice, will definitely love this free note-taking app. Evernote is an ideal solution for drafting a guest post. Its main asset is being perfectly cross-platform: notes are easily accessible from a PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phone and from the Web. Beside text notes, Evernote can keep whole web pages or excerpts, images, HTML code, PDFs, music, business cards, etc. Everything added to Evernote is automatically synchronized and made searchable. Evernote is also remarkable for its auto-saving, absence of cumbersome editing tools and ability to email notes.

Every guest post requires images, to say nothing about software roundups or reviews – here screenshots are a must. FastStone Capture greatly simplifies the task of taking snapshots of any screen fragments – full screen, active software windows, drop-down menus, web pages, or any selected areas of the above mentioned. Just hit the PrintScreen key and save your image in a desired format copy it to the clipboard. FastStone also has a basic image editor that lets crop, resize, rotate, adjust colour of the capture, add captions, print or email images. The only unpleasant feature that it has only 30-day trial and it’s $19.95 to register a version.

If you need an eye-catching image for your post but you aren’t skilled enough to use Photoshop, address Flickr – an online photo hosting service. It’s a great place to find images on any topic you’d like, just type a query in search and browse thousands of cool images that are Creative Commons licensed, meaning you can use them in your post as long as you attribute credit to the image owner. Plus, Flickr has a huge community of photographers who share their impressive photos there.

It’s very important for a guest blogger to spread a new post via social media channels- Facebook, Twitter and others. SMO specialists recommend to retweet your own content multiple times a day for different time zones. Bufferapp lets perfectly complete this task. This is a free web-based app which allows you to arrange tweeting as many times a day as you wish and keep your social presence while you’re absent. A convenient analytics tool provides feedback details on every bufferapp post. There’s also a similar option to schedule Facebook posts.

It’s needless to say how grammar and spelling are important for a guest blogger, especially for a non-native speaker. Here WordWeb comes to the aid. This is a free powerful dictionary and thesaurus program that provides the definition, synonyms, antonyms of any given word without requiring you to go online. It has about 150,000 words in its database and allows you to look up a word in online reference sites. The app is also notable for its hot key support: you simply use a hot key combo when the cursor is pointed over any word, and WordWeb will pop up onscreen with all pertinent information. The Pro version ($19.50) includes more word definitions, advanced Web search options and other features.

Guest posts may get better coverage due to multimedia addons. If you’d like to put a video into a post, you can’t do without Free make Video Converter. This is a free Windows-based software that lets turn any offline video into web-compatible format (Flash FVL or SWF) or easily upload it to YouTube. You can also cut unnecessary video parts, choose a custom video resolution and even create video out of photos and music.

That has been all the tools i think is necessary for enhancing the success of guest blogging. If you have any other tool that you think is important for guest blogging please share it using the comment section.

Blog Traffic: Using Social Media To Promote Your Blog

If you have the intention of boosting your blog traffic using social media, there is much more to do than just sharing your blog link on your Facebook timeline or any other social media that you are using to promote your blog.
In this article i will be sharing with you what to need to do to maximize the use of various social media out there. Don't have the mindset that, you've always been hearing of these things, there is something you need to do differently so that you can achieve a different result.

Personally, I think the most frustrating part about the entire blog writing process is after you press the publish button and your post goes live. After spending so much energy on creating a great, interesting post, you want other people to read it! Yet, your social shares aren’t going anywhere. This is when you have to take matters into your own hands, head to popular social networks, and try these tips for gaining new readers.
How To Use Social Media To Promote Your Blog
    technolism

The right way of using social media to promote your blog

    • Facebook

What you already do: Post your blog on your personal wall and on your Facebook brand page.

What you should also do: If you have a friend that would be interested in the blog but is notorious for not looking anywhere but his own page, post it directly to his wall. If your blog mentions any other brands, tag them when you post to your personal wall or brand page.

Take it a step further: ‘Like’ Facebook pages that are either mentioned in your blog or would be interested in it. Take some time to research: Do they let users post links on their wall or do they delete them? If they allow it, post your blog on the brand’s wall. If they don’t, go into the discussion board and either add to a current discussion or start a new topic. Leave a well-constructed comment and a link to your blog.

    • Twitter

What you already do: Tweet out the title and link to your blog to all your followers.

What you should also do: Add in one or two relevant hashtags. Whether you toss a # in front of a keyword in your title or just place one at the end, this will bring up your post when other Twitter users search for information.

Take it a step further: Once you tweet out your blog, do a quick search to see who else is talking about your topic. If they have asked a question or you can relate with something they’ve tweeted, reply to them! People will want to see who found their conversation interesting, and they will go check out your Twitter feed. They’ll be intrigued when they find that you’ve written a relevant blog.

    • Google+

What you already do: Post it to your Google+ stream.

What you should also do: Google+ supports hashtags now! Just like Twitter, add in one or two relevant hashtags when you post. Make sure that your post has public visibility!

Take it a step further: If you’ve linked to other blogs, many of those authors have Google+ accounts. Put them in your circle and tag them with something like “Thanks, +Author A, for some inspiration for my latest blog post!” Also add the post to the “Recommended links” section on your profile for added traffic and a slight bump in search engine rankings.

    • LinkedIn

What you already do: Post your blog as an update on your LinkedIn account.

What you should also do: If you are especially proud of your blog, add it into the publication tab on your Linkedin profile. Not only will this generate another link, but prospective employers will be able to see your work.

Take it a step further: If you aren’t already in some of the many blogging groups on LinkedIn, join a few! You will be connecting with new readers – other bloggers who will be more likely to share and/or comment on your blogs – and many of the groups post weekly threads where you can share links to your blog. Also be sure to install the BlogLink application on your profile.

Above all: Never, ever act like a spammer when you reach out to new people on social networks. You’re reaching out to them because you believe that your blog is something they will find interesting. But if you simply @ or +mention them with your link saying “plz read,” I guarantee that nobody will click on it. Take the extra minute to formulate a complete tweet or sentence and engage your potential audience. The higher the quality of your networking, the more likely it is that someone will take the time to read your blog.

That has been all about using social media to promote your blog. Feel free to leave your contributions to this post in the comment section.

Attracting Visitors To The Mobile Version Of Your Blog/Website

To attract visitors to your blog and give them a pleasant experience, there are things you need to consider in attracting more visitors to the mobile version of your blog/website. In today's tutorial, i will be sharing with you 6 (six) tips to make your blog/website version user friendly.

Internet users nowadays access websites from a multitude of devices, not just PC’s and laptops, but also tablets and mobile phones and this leaves website designers with a delicate issue that needs solving: making sure that no matter the screen size and the device from which a site is being accessed, the quality of the web browsing and the experience remains excellent for the mobile visitor.

This is no easy task to accomplish, especially since, according to specialists, the most website surfers use their mobile or tablet instead of their laptop, and if a site is not correctly designed to offer smooth browsing, users will simply leave the website and will not visit it the second time. And because a high bounce rate (the percentage of visitors who enter a site and leave it immediately) is detrimental to your website, mobile visitors and your business, optimizing your design to accommodate such users should be a top priority.

The concept of Mobile SEO deals with exactly this problem: it caters to the careful optimization of sites for the mobile web. Your brand image and the way potential customers or partners see you results from not only the quality of your products, but also from how professional you and the employees they come in contact with behave, and most of all, from the way your website is constructed. All reputable SEO companies know that scoring high in search engine rankings is therefore not the only side of a coin. Being user friendly, and most of all mobile optimized is key. Here are a few mobile SEO tips to get your site up and going in the right department:

Attracting Visitors To The Mobile Version Of Your Blog/Website

    • Responsive Design
This approach allows easy tracking because you are no longer forced to serve different URL’s to your customers if you build the mobile version of your site using plugins ( MobilePress for instance for WordPress) or using responsive design. As a result, you site traffic and your back-links will all be pointing to the correct URL and you will be losing no traffic and no link juice. Responsive design also makes it unnecessary to design different versions of the website in accordance to screen sizes. This saves up a lot of time and most importantly, lots of nerves. Lastly, but most importantly, mobile visitors like a Responsive design because it is consistent through different media.

    • Mobile Sitemap
Generating a mobile sitemap is essential so that users find their way up and around your site, so this is the next logical step. You can easily set up a Sitemap using user-friendly tools. This will help with content indexing, and it will also make it easier for the mobile visitor to find the things that he needs on your pages.

    • Submit your Sitemap to Mobile Search Engines
Having generated a Sitemap is not enough, you also have to make your site score high in search engines and be visible to mobile visitors. Submitting your sitemap to Mobile Search Engines makes your site open to queries (submitting to Bing webmasters gives you better indexing).
Be sure to know exactly the language in which your site is coded in (XHTML) because each of these coding languages are interpreted differently by search engines and they will serve search requests differently depending on the language your site is coded in.

    • Mobile Site Optimization
Load time, ease of access, user friendliness are essential aspects that mobile visitors actually pay much attention to. As page scroll speed and such other aspects are important for a website, optimizing your mobile site so that your users don’t waste their time is a must. Remember that load times for PC’s, tablets and phones are not all the same, so the mobile version of your site needs to be as light as possible in order to ensure fast loading times. No visitor has the patience to wait for slow loading websites, so make sure your load times are under one second. Surfing on tablets of mobile phones is also not ideal, so make sure your site is keyword rich and easy to get around on.

    • Pop-Ups or Overlays
While a PC can handle some Pop-ups and overlays without giving up or becoming obnoxious, mobile devices aren’t able to handle pop ups very well. Make great efforts to offer your customers a completely pop-up free website in order to shield them from ugly user experience and yourself from a bad brand image.

    • Social Media
Engaging on social media platforms is essential to mobile visitors, especially since they will most likely visit your site because of status updates or tweets that involve your URL. Sharing content or updates of relevance is as important as incorporating social media buttons into the site itself so that users are encouraged to actively engage with one and other through your site.
In conclusion, it is essential that website designers do not ignore their mobile visitors because they are surely overgrowing the conventional PC users and will become the predominant half of daily visitors, so pleasing them by means of mobile SEO optimization will make the difference between those sites which make it and those which don’t.

That has been all about attracting visitors to the mobile version of your blog/website, feel free to contribute to this article by leaving your contributions in the comment section.
